Pakistan’s Defence Minister on Tuesday accused India of staging a false flag operation in Kashmir to malign Pakistan and divert attention away from human rights abuses there. His comments followed an attack that resulted in several Indian security personnel dying there earlier that week.
Defense Minister [Name] made these accusations at a press conference held in Islamabad. India, according to him, has an established pattern of orchestrating incidents to justify aggressive actions taken against Pakistan. When negotiations progress towards peace or India’s internal situation worsens, false flag operations are used to create mass panic and blame Pakistan without evidence being provided, said Defense Minister [Name].
The minister noted that Pakistan has long advocated for peace and dialogue while India continues to “manufacture incidents” to sabotage diplomatic efforts. According to him, the world community must see through India’s pattern of deceitful behaviour.
Kashmir has long been an issue between two nuclear-armed neighbors, with both countries claiming and controlling portions of it. Tensions have increased dramatically since India revoked Kashmir’s special autonomous status in August 2019, prompting fierce condemnation from Pakistan.
Indian officials, on the other hand, blame Pakistan-based militant groups for this latest attack and pledged a strong response. India accuses Islamabad of offering sanctuary for terrorist groups involved in cross-border terrorism – something it denies vigorously.
“Pakistan has no interest in creating instability in Kashmir,” the Defence Minister declared, adding that they prefer an environment in which Kashmiri people’s legitimate aspirations can be respected and their dignity upheld.
Analysts note that allegations of false flag operations between India and Pakistan are nothing new. Both parties often make accusations after major incidents without reaching any agreements or independent verification of these allegations.
Pakistan’s Foreign Office issued a separate statement reiterating Islamabad’s commitment to regional peace, warning India not to engage in any misadventures that might threaten it. Furthermore, they noted that Pakistan’s Armed Forces stand “fully prepared” to respond quickly should any threats emerge against their homeland.
As tensions in the volatile region mount once more along the Line of Control, international observers are encouraging both nations to exercise restraint and prioritize diplomatic engagement to prevent further escalation in this volatile region.
